EDeNn supports organisations, trainers and practitioners to work collectively towards the inclusion of an equality and diversity approach as a core element in ECCE training and practice
We aim to achieve this by:
Actively promoting the inclusion of an equality and diversity approach in ECCE
Facilitating the sharing of information amongst organisations, trainers and policy makers
Building on and complementing existing initiatives and ‘best practice
Exploring possibilities to develop initiatives between research, training and practice
Developing responses to national policy
Goals of EDeNn
Empower children and adults by supporting their identity and sense of belonging
Learn from each other across cultural boundaries and promote comfort with difference
Foster critical reflection on issues of difference and bias
Actively work together to challenge individual and institutional forms of discrimination
The EDeNn network provides a national platform:
to consult on priority issues in ECCE
to listen and critically discuss equality and diversity issues
to develop and disseminate new resources
to hold seminars on relevant equality and diversity issues
to develop and inform policy interests
to work in collaboration with other networks nationally and internationally
